The Long Game
This piece was another leap forward and a proof of concept for me. The original for this is actually two pieces of paper, the foreground and then the inner window. The inner window was created around the concept that my whole life has been about waiting and working and patience. I receive very little instant gratification everything comes in what seems like extended time. They say you should never compare your journey to anyone else’s but that’s somewhat hard to do and it has always felt like things come quicker and easier to those that surround me. But then again, are we playing at the same game? The light house is not a light house but a Queen piece from a chess set because I’m playing chess not checkers. The foreground was done by painting another piece of paper black, then taping off my pattern and painting a stone texture over the top, then peeling the tape. I wanted to see if that would work well because it’s a technique I want to employ on a much larger piece I am trying to orchestrate now. Also this piece was the first piece I started working with black 3.0 paint from culture hustle. This paint is the blackest, most matte paint available, absorbing something like 98 percent of all light. If you want to read the hilarious story of its creation google Stewart Semple. It’s pretty legit though and I have been using it more and more and have some wild plans. I really love this piece and all it represents.
This poster has a partly glossy, partly matte finish and it'll add a touch of sophistication to any room.
• 10 mil (0.25 mm) thick
• Slightly glossy
• Fingerprint resistant
