#1 (Abstraction of the Multi Panel Covers for X-men number one)

from $20.00

This was another experimental piece that is going to lead to more of its kind. With this, I broke down and abstractly recreated the multi-issue inter-connected covers for X-men number one from the early 90’s. There were four different covers and you could line them all up to create one large poster image. I took those covers and turn them into geometric abstraction. It looks wild but it’s all there: Wolverine, Gambit, the X-men logo. Honestly I feel like this is one of those pieces that you can look at for a while and it sort of becomes like solving a puzzle trying to equate things. This required a lot of thought and planning to pull off but I really like the end result and this opens me up to touch on more significant pop culture subject matter without ripping off anyone’s intellectual property, which I like. Album covers, historical photographs, heck your family pet, its all fair game now and this was the piece that showed me the way.

This poster has a partly glossy, partly matte finish and it'll add a touch of sophistication to any room.

• 10 mil (0.25 mm) thick
• Slightly glossy
• Fingerprint resistant
